THE PILATES WAY
Therapist/Instructor
Ann Swayne
Ann has 25+ years of experience practicing clinical Physical Therapy, with a broad background in treating a variety of orthopedic conditions including shoulder, neck, back, hip, knee and ankle ailments. A former teacher, Ann emphasizes the importance of helping her clients and patients to understand the “why” behind their treatment for a more well-rounded recovery process.
In 2019, Ann experienced the benefits of Physical Therapy and Pilates-focused rehabilitation firsthand during her recovery for a painful hip injury. It was a learning experience that led to her love of Pilates equipment as a new tool to help rehab injuries. After extensive additional education with specialization in the Polestar method, she obtained her Pilates instructor certification in 2021. This included thorough training in Joseph Pilates' methods and specialized equipment. Since this equipment (the Reformer, Tower, Trapeze table, Stability Chair and Spine Corrector) is not available in most clinics, this has led to the opening of her own studio.
